Change the script on victim blaming.

If someone you care about was a victim of crime,
what would you say to them? Many victims are blamed for what happened to them - often by people they know.

What we say when someone opens up
can make a real difference.

I understand

I have been blamed for years first by a man who tried to take my life and abused me and my children and secondly by an ex husband who assaulted me. I refuse to take the blame but I know how bad the victim blaming mentality is. I fully support this. It is never the victims fault. NEVER!! And right now its been happening to my daughter. Its divided my family but I will always stick up for the victim!!

dysfunctional, anxious predators

The perpetrators are often anxious, blue print damaged they prey on the weak and vulnerable. Those who don't believe you or shift blame are are equally accountable. Don't feel sorry for the Perpetrators "PITY THEM"

NZ holds criminals not accountable to their crimes, especially in cases of violence against others. I was a victim of violence (threats of death) and assault. I was not given any support after the event and was basically left to deal with the perpetrators on my own with minimal protection from the police. The person who threatened me, is going for a no conviction and will probably be discharged without conviction. NZ's legal system is biased and supports criminals over victims, shameful
